Run Report ....
MotorLife Museum, Kembla Grange, 23rd May 2022 ....
Well, the big wet of 2022 continued as Annie and I headed north towards Sydney, thankfully the rain cleared away as we passed Mittagong, and the sun appeared through the clouds.
Our group met up at Leos Diner and we were soon on the road heading down to Kembla Grange via Pickton road. Traffic was fairly good on the scenic drive down to the Illawarra as we made our way to the museum via a back road route due to the main road being washed away in the recent heavy rainfalls.
Our arrival at the museum was met my some of the museum staff who had our pride-of-place parking organised right in front of the museum entry. Following the normal carpark discussions, we headed over to the museum to discuss the day’s activities.
The MotorLife Museum collections were amazing. Apart from the cars, bikes and trucks, there were displays from all eras, including toys, car parts, meters, lights, badges, books, car manuals (even Torana ones!), workshop tools, campers, household items, cameras and signs galore! Wow, even John Lennon!!!
Bob had organised a BBQ lunch supplied by the staff, complete with desert and tea and coffee in the museum’s Brabham Room. The museum staff and volunteers excelled themselves and the whole lunch experience was fantastic.
What a great day; the museum and its staff are well worth the visit, we’ll be back ....
A relaxing and enjoyable day was had by all and thanks to everyone for attending.
Cheers,
Steve.
