  2. Be as close to original condition as possible, with no alterations except for safety features such as seatbelts, turn indicators or period options, accessories and safety items.
  3. Comply with the applicable vehicle standards as at the date of vehicle manufacture.
  1. Classic vehicles have certain modifications which are not permitted under the Historic Vehicle Scheme (HVS).
  2. Classic vehicle modifications may be owner–certified or significantly modified. If significantly modified, they must have a valid compliance certificate issued by a licensed certifier.

Historic and Classic Vehicle Log Book Scheme.

The NSW Torana Club participates in the Historic and Classic Vehicle Log Book Scheme.  The log book allows members to use their HVS⁄CVS–registered vehicles for up to 60 days per year for maintenance and personal use outside of club–organised events.  Each day of general use must be recorded in the member's log book.

Please note:  Should a member operate a HVS or CVS–registered vehicle outside of the legislation governing the use of such vehicles, it may be classed as unregistered and the operator liable to the penalties which apply to the operation of an unregistered and uninsured (CTP) vehicle.  Such a penalty can be quite severe.

The Club Registrar does not sign-off on a vehicle′s road worthiness.  Road worthiness is to be ascertained by the vehicle owner and obtaining a ′Pink′ or ′Blue Slip′ (as advised by the Club Registrar) issued by a Transport NSW Licensed Inspector prior to arranging a HVS/CVS compliance inspection with the NSW Torana Club Registrar.  The Registrar only inspects the vehicle for compliance with HVS/CVS requirements and not road worthiness.  There are no exceptions to this requirement.

Further information on Historic and Classic Vehicle Registration may be found on the New South Wales Government website.

Please contact the Club Plate Registrar, Peter Macken, for all HVS⁄CVS enquires.
