Run Report ....

Bathurst and AGM, 19/21 March 2021 ....

Well, what a way to start our AGM weekend away!  On Friday, we meet-up at Glenbrook at around 10:30am for coffee then headed for Bathurst.  It rained heavily all the way over the mountians, but once we got past Lithgow, it dispersed.  We arrived at the motel by 2:30pm, and after settling-in, I did some shopping while the others relaxed.  4:30pm was drinks and nibblies time which was just a great way to start-off the busy weekend ahead.  Dinner followed in the motel bistro.  Although a bit noisy, the food was good, but overall, it was a good night.

Next morning we were up early for breakfact then departed the motel at around 9:30am for the short drive to the track.  The group did a number of laps and took plenty of snaps before visiting the National Motor Racing Musuem.  The museum is always an interesting place to visit, and with so many interesting exhibits to see, it was difficult to leave.

Following the museum tour, we headed back to the track and to Mc Phillamy Park for a sausage sizzle lunch.  Many thanks to the club chefs, Mark and Mike, for putting-on such a great lunch which was a big hit with everyone.  Thankfully the rain stayed away.

After lunch, most of the group did the secinic walk along the new trackside walkway which was quite pleasant.  Once done, it was time to head back to the motel for AGM which got under way by 3:00pm.  The 'no-frills, no-fuss AGM ran like a well-oiled clock, and in what seemed like no time, it was all done-and-dusted.  I would like to welcome and congratulate the Club's newest committee member, namely Bob Breeze, for accepting the membership officer's role.

With the AGM done for another year, it was drinks and nibbilies time (there is a habit forming here).  Dinner time, and at 5:50pm, everyone met in the motel carpark then walked the short distance to Pantano's Bar and Grill on William Street, Bathurst.  Although a little crowded, and with the confusion regarding the seating arrangements solved, the meals were ordered and duly consumed.  Pantano's is a great place with excellent food and service.  Over the course of the evening the world's problems and strategies were solved with a minimum debate and fuss.  I sure everyone had a great evening.

As always, good weekends slide away sooo fast.  Come Sunday morning, we packed-up ready to head for home.  Before departing Bathurst, there was one more official task for President Steve and myself to do and this was to present the Club's newest member, Steve Ingwersen, with his club shirt and cap.  This was done at Rockabilly Café in Bathurst.
