Run Report ....
Christmas Function, Winston Hills Hotel, 08/12/2018 ....
With a record turnout of colourfully attired members in a combination of Christmas and Club regalia, chat and refreshments were underway at 12:00hrs, augmented by plates of antipasto and dips arranged by Bob.
Meals, ordered around 13:00hrs were, despite the huge crowd at the Winston, delivered promptly though a couple of orders disappeared into the ether but were sorted quickly.
A heap of top prizes, generously provided by Rose and Bob, were distributed via the lucky door tickets and thanks go to our Secretary, Rose, for organising this along with surprise bags for the children.
Goodies continued with Bob presenting new Club pens to members, mentioning that these, together with the Club hatbands, were a way the Club was giving back to members. Great novel ‘Fire Services’ cooking spoons were handed-out by Mark and Julie.
Vice President and Run Coordinator, Bob, thanked all for both their attendance on the day and participation on runs during the year. He also specially thanked Peter Macken for his great efforts on managing the Club registrar function.
The AGM, the Cordeaux Dam BBQ and the Torana Nationals were brought-up as special highlight events of 2018.
Annie spoke on behalf of Club President, Steve, to thank all members for their continued support of the Club and appreciation of the efforts of the committee.
The spirit and participation of the Club members has never been higher, and we look forward to events in 2019, many of which are already posted on the web site.
The Winston Hotel has served us well for many years, but next year's function is planned for a new, exciting venue.
Members and guests in attendance: Julie and Mark, Rose and Harold, Terry and Jian with Thomas, Gary and Kerrie, Peter and Angie, Stuart and Angela with Lawrence, Rob and Leanne with grandchildren, Mark and Heather with Jackson, Rod and Brooke with Ruby and Daisy, Annie with Matt, Rob and Sharon, Bob, Ron, Mike V, Mike H and Gabrielle.
Apologies: Lance, Steve, John and Val.
