Run Report ....

Jenolan Caves, 08/04/2018 ....

I arrived early at the departure point for this run, and while getting petrol, I got chatting to a fellow with a GRT XU-1 by the name of Warick. I was soon joined by Steve, Annie, Rob and Sharon. Warwick headed-off so the five of us moved-up to the coffee shop where we were greeted by Julie and Mark, and shortly after, joined by Mark, Heather, Ria and Jack.

Breakfast and coffee done by 8:15 and we were on our way. The traffic was pretty good for a Sunday and a smooth run to Little Hartley where Rob and Leanne were waiting. We turned-off the main highway and onto the caves road which is a good driving road and you can get along at a good speed, but the second part is very slow as you get closer to the caves. On arriving, some members went to the booking office and got the tickets which were for the 11:30am tour. The tour commenced right on time and we headed into the lucas cave where we had a very informatine tour by our guide. Plenty of steps to climb and some quite fascinating sights which which lead to plenty of happy snaps being taken.

By 1:00pm we are heading-out of the cave and back to the carpark to get the Toranas and head to our lunch spot, the Hampton Halfway Hotel). This hotel this is a great place for lunch on any day, never mind a Sunday! Our meals were ordered and they were soon being served. By 2:30pm it was time to think about heading-off for home, so with a talk about the next run we made our way back to the highway and off home.

A great day out and many thanks to those who attended.

Attendees: Mark, Julie, Rob, Leanne, Steve, Annie, Mark, Heather, Ria, Jack, Rob, Sharon, Kimmy and Bob.
