Run Report ....
Grey Gums Café, Putty Road, 27 August 2017 ....
For the run to the Grey Gums Café, members met at McDonalds, McGraths Hill. With the car park full with the VW Kombi and the Monaro clubs, we surprisingly managed to find a spot to park. Following coffee, Steve and myself spoke about the run and under a bright sunny sky we headed-off. What a sight to see with eight Toranas and one Monaro in line heading-up the Putty Road. Everyone was well behaved and adhered to the speed limit. Actually there is no need not to adhere to the speed limit on the Putty for it is such a good cruising road to travel on.
In what seemed like in no time we were turning into the Grey Gums parking area choosing to park on the grassed area. There were many people at the café and our cars got a lot of attention as we rolled-in and parked. As the Grey Gums gets very busy on weekends, we decided to head inside to order lunch and to quench our thirsts. Such great service as we had our meals on the table within 15 minutes of ordering.
Following lunch I gave a talk about the upcoming Toranafest event and run while Steve got busy with the happy snaps. Soon it was once again time to head for home and we all travelled back together as a group. I was great seeing all of the cars together similar to how it was driving up in the morning.
Many thanks to all who attended and for the apologies for those who could not make it.
Attendees: Steve, Annie, Mark, Heather, Jack, Ria, Gary, Kerrie, Pete, Rob, Leanne, Ian, Colin, Julie, Mark, Jim, Jeremy, Tash and family and Bob.
Apologies: Rose, Harold, Mike, Gabby and Lance.
