Run Report ....
Gosford Reptile Park, 21 May 2017 ....
Members met-up at McDonalds, Thornleigh and by departure time, had done the coffee and breakfast thing in preparation for a full-on day of fun, excitement and adventure. We headed-out onto Pennant Hills Road and made the Newcastle F3 Freeway in good time then a quick stop after the Brooklyn Bridge just to make sure that we hadn’t lost anyone. From here it was a good run up to the Gosford exit where we turned left onto the Wisemans Ferry Road and then exiting into the reptile park car park. On arrival we got a surprise as organised by Steve and were rewarded with a backdoor tour (you know the one where we feel like you are a special guest).
The first group headed-off at 11:00am, and by 11:45am, the next group was on its way then finally meeting-up and finishing the tour as a combined group. What a very informative, educational and exciting tour it was. We saw snakes being milked of their venom, koalas, wombats, Tassie devils, cassowaries and the dingos, with all of the kids getting happy snaps with them (big kids as well as the small ones).
Next it was time to see the crocs being fed after which it was starting to get into the afternoon, so as always, it was time for some to bid farewell and start to consider the trip home; quite a haul for some.
In concluding, I would like to thank all who attended and those who made their apologies. A big thank you, too, to Steve for organising such a memorable day.
