Run Report ....
Berrima, 17 January 2016 ....
This run to Berrima commemorates a very special year for the club for it marks the tenth anniversary of the club's formation.
The group met-up at Leo's Diner at 9:30am for a 10:00am departure and then headed-off on time for Berrima via the freeway and down to the Mittagong turn-off. Nothing like a line of Toranas on the freeway together. Passing through the Mittagong township and then onto Berrima where the group turned into the Berrima Hotel carpark and was greeted by Mike and Gabby who had arrived just before. At this point, some headed for the shops for a peruse while the rest of the group remained in the carpark and engaged in idle discussion. Some things never change!
By midday everybody was lining-up to order lunch (this pub gets busy). The food at the Berrima Hotel is always good and today was no exception. As soon as lunch was over, Liz surprised everybody with decorative cake to celebrate the anniversary of the Club. It was a beautiful cake with white icing and embossed with the Club logo. Well done Liz and thank you. Once the anniversary celebration was over members headed-out into the carpark where the committee distributed the new anniversary shirt to members.
Once done it was almost time to say our goodbyes when local highway patrol officer dropped-by and advised that he was a Torana owner. He certainly knew his stuff about Toranas and we spent a good 30 minutes talking to him. Mike almost signed him up as a new member!
I would like to extend a big thank you to the committee for their efforts in designing the new shirt, which was well received.
