Run Report ....
Katoomba, 25 May 2014 ....
The group met at Macdonalds Penrith for what was going to be an interesting days run. We headed-off at 10:00am, some of the group had never been to Catalina before. The traffic was a bit heavy I guess most people had the same idea as us on a sunny Sunday.
In to Katoomba, down some back streets and we were at our destination. We then started our walk back into motor racing history. The original BP sign is still at the start/finish line. It was just great to see how this circuit rises and falls, it must have been great to race on it. It still had timber walls on most of the circuit (no armco at first) but some was put in later and is still there. The walk around the circuit took about 45minutes. To look and think how great this circuit was in its hay day is just amazing. After the walk in was time to think about lunch, so off to the local RSL, parking was easy. The club was busy (tourist) after lunch we said our goodbyes and headed off home.
