Great Cars, Great Runs, Great People, Great Times ....

Run Report ....

NSW Rail and Train Museum, 25 August 2013 ....

What a glorious day; sun shining, no wind and good company. After assembling at Leo’s Diner, Glenfield, we left at 9:30am for Thirlmere.

We had a good run down the freeway to Picton Road, turned right and headed for Picton and Thirlmere, arriving at the museum at approximately 10.30am. We paid our money and proceeded to have a look around at the old trains, most of them have been restored, some have seen better days. Les was in his element, being an ex-railway coach painter, giving us a running commentary on how the carriages should be painted.

After our tour we headed-off to The Welcome Inn, in Thirlmere, for lunch, where we were met by Scott and Leanne. The meals were ‘huge’ and reasonably priced. After lunch and a chat we departed for home.

We all enjoyed a good day out on a very summery day.

Present: Les and Liz, Peter and Angie, Mike Muller, Scott and Leanne.

Apologies: Bob Byrnes, Rob Farnsworth, Rose and Harold and Lance H.
