Run Report ....
Wollombi, 23 November 2008 ....
We left the Mt Colah McDonalds at the designated time of 9:00am with a small group of 5 cars (sadly only two Toranas), for the run to Wollombi. The weather was cool as we drove via the Pacific Highway to F3 Freeway then George Downs Drive where it started drizzling as we approached the home of Dr Jurd' Jungle Juice.
Shortly after our arrival the rain descended, lucky we had decided not to park in the camping ground as this would have made any retreat a bit on the difficult side later on.
At approximately 11:45am we were graced with the presence of another six Toranas, five from the Hunter Valley Torana Club as well as Paul Gilmore’s hatch.
With lunches ordered the group discussed what was going on with the different clubs and runs. A few brave, for want of a better word, children had a run around to see the horses in an adjoining paddock.
Meals were enjoyed and with the rain continuing it was decided that we would bid our farewells and head off at our own leisure to drive safely home.
Hopefully a good day was enjoyed by those attending, despite the rain: Scott Davidson, Les Wilson, Rob, Leanne, Kimberly, Breanna Farnsworth, Mick Lisa and Cody Aldridge, Michael Muller, Paul Gilmore.
Apologies, Greg and Lexa Hawkins, Mike Holland, Michael Velo, Bob Byrnes, Lance Haslewood and Andrew Squires.
