Run Report ....
Wollongong, 26 October 2008 ....
The run to Wollongong began at the McDonalds Cumberland Hwy Liverpool with the usual meet and greets, with Larry Sullivan, Rick Longdon in attendance, with a few members not used to Sydney getting disorientated and finding it a bit hard to get to this point.
The run left Macca’s near on time, with a few stop starts with traffic lights etc, we made our way towards Wollongong, through the scenic route winding down to the Lawrence Hargrave Drive where we stop for a short stretch of the legs and watch a couple of whales playing out in the big blue pond.
We then continued on to Flagstaff Point Park, with a brief hold-up at a set of traffic lights for a malfunctioning Torana, where another brief stretch was enjoyed as the boats were viewed, before leaving for the lunch venue of the Appin Hotel.
This venue is apparently becoming a popular lunch place with the dining area quite full when we arrived; a decision was made to order meals as quick as possible as not to get caught out with waiting (this failed as many meals were delivered at varying times). After the lunch’s disappeared the group headed off to the four corners they came from.
Hopefully a good day was enjoyed by those attending: Scott and Leanne Davidson, Les Wilson, Rob and Leanne Farnsworth, Michael Muller, Bob Byrnes, Reno Emanuelle, Dean Byrnes, Andrew Squires and Joey, James Davidson and Natalie, Larry Sullivan, Rick Longdon, Rob, Dean, Rory Shaw.
Apologies: Mick Lisa and Cody Aldridge, Greg and Lexa Hawkins, Mike Holland and Michael Velo.
